Angus (Rufus Sewell) and Bailey (Reno Wilson) meet an old sailor during their travels, and the three hit it off, feeling like they've known each other for a long time. The old sailor takes them to the castle where he lives, where he hides a secret he is proud of. It turns out that the old sailor once encountered a real mermaid (Carla Gugino) and, not only that, he went to great lengths to capture her and imprison her in the castle. Angus and Bailey see endless business opportunities in the mermaid; they know that this rare treasure could bring them immense wealth and a bright future, so they team up to steal her. As time goes by, the mermaid indeed brings wealth to the two, but it also pushes them into the shadow of death.
