In 2000, the classic Disney masterpiece "Fantasia," which had long been enshrined in the hall of animation, re-emerged before the world in a new form, featuring the following main pieces: 1) Beethoven: Symphony No. 5 (Fate), 2) Respighi: Pines of Rome, 3) Gershwin: Rhapsody in Blue, 4) Shostakovich: Piano Concerto No. 2—Allegro (Opus 102), 5) Saint-Saëns: Carnival of the Animals, 6) Dukas: The Sorcerer's Apprentice, 7) Elgar: Pomp & Circumstance, 8) Stravinsky: Firebird Suite. Except for "The Sorcerer's Apprentice," which was taken directly from the original version, all other pieces are newly recorded. This film is the first to be produced using IMAX technology and won the Annie Award for Outstanding Individual Achievement for Animation (Eric Goldberg), Outstanding Individual Achievement for Effects (Ted Kierscey), and Best Dramatic Score (Susan Goldberg) in 2000.
