Beck (played by Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson) owes Billy a large sum of high-interest loans. Billy promises that if Beck goes to the Golden City in central Amazon and brings back his son, Travis (played by Seann William Scott), who has dropped out of school and is wandering, all debts will be forgiven. Beck readily agrees. Beck quickly finds Travis, who is treasure hunting, through a bar waitress named Mariana (played by Rosario Dawson) in the Golden City. Just as he is about to take Travis away, the local mob boss, Hetch, arrives with his men to seize Travis, as it turns out that Travis knows the whereabouts of the local treasure "Gato." After Beck drives them away, he and Travis head to the airport to go home. On the way, Travis attempts to escape, leading both of them to fall into the hands of local rebels. It turns out that Mariana is the leader of the rebels, and she is also searching for "Gato." To get home safely, they can only agree to help the rebels find "Gato" first...
