In 1967, a family massacre occurred at the Mountain View Hotel. Ou Bingtong, suspecting his wife of infidelity, murdered her and then committed suicide with his three-year-old son by ingesting rat poison. The scene of their deaths was extremely horrifying, with five bloody characters spelling out "May this moment last forever" on the walls, while a gramophone was repeatedly playing the song "May this moment last forever." In 1999, printing industry computer expert Ma Wenxin (played by Liu Qingyun) was kidnapped by mysterious assailants after work, but his family and girlfriend, Fu Qianren (played by Guo Aiming), received no ransom calls. Two days later, police officer A Pit (played by Liang Jiahui) discovered mysterious bloodstains in Ma Wenxin's car and tracked down that Ma Wenxin was found hanging upside down in the same room where the family massacre took place, with his body covered in wounds.
