The film tells the story of a man named Joe (played by Sylvester Stallone) who is trying to forget the racetrack after a brutal accident. Racing boss Carl (played by Burt Reynolds) finds Joe and offers him a chance to return to the racetrack, this time as a coach instead of a driver. Jimmy (played by Kip Pardue) is a talented but pressured rookie. Throughout the process, Jimmy loses his confidence and drive. Meanwhile, he unfortunately falls in love with his rival's girlfriend, Sofia (played by Estella Warren), who is the girlfriend of top driver Bobo (played by Til Schweiger). Joe and Jimmy come together in this story. Can this old-young duo complement each other, overcome challenges, and ultimately win the championship?
