Guy (Farley Granger) is in an unhappy marriage; his wife Joyce (Kasey Rogers) is a promiscuous woman, and Guy deeply resents her infidelity. Bruno (Robert Walker) has long been oppressed by his domineering father, Mr. Anthony (Jonathan Hale), and is slowly driven to murderous thoughts. These two unfortunate men meet on a train. After sharing their troubles, Bruno proposes a swap of murders to create the illusion of a motive-less crime. Guy thinks Bruno is just joking and does not respond. Little does he know, just days later, Joyce is unexpectedly murdered. Bruno fulfills his promise, and now it’s Guy’s turn.
