The film documents James Cameron's successful dive to the deepest part of the world's oceans—the Mariana Trench—using his single-person submersible, the Deepsea Challenger. Cameron reached a depth of 35,756 feet (approximately 10,898 meters), an unmatched depth limit in the world's oceans. This documentary also shares the story behind the development of the submersible.
