This is Godard's epic satire of human nature, and that’s my view; because all the iconic elements of that era can be found in this film: desire, power, war, shadows, communism, opposition, mockery, as well as nihilism and absurdity; when we bundle all these words together, the thorns we touch are astonishing. I conclude this is a punk disguised as a director, the reason being the two films I watched in 2000, one being the more shocking "Weekend," and the other being this "Gunman."
