In a village in the dark woods, three classic fairy tales unfold according to a set storyline: the oppressed Cinderella (played by Anna Kendrick) longs to attend the king's ball, but her wicked stepmother and stepsisters do everything they can to torment her; Jack (played by Daniel Huttlestone) treats his non-milking white cow as a friend, while his mother orders him to sell it; Little Red Riding Hood (played by Lilla Crawford) bounces along, filled with tasty bread, towards her grandmother deep in the dark woods. Just as Little Red Riding Hood leaves, the evil witch (played by Meryl Streep) suddenly appears, casting a terrible curse on the baker (played by James Corden) unless he can gather four items in three days: a white cow, a red cape, golden hair, and golden shoes. By fate's design, the fairy tale characters converge in the dark woods...
