The famous physicist Maya Rizo (played by Minami Bantaro) comes from a family with a terrifying legend: anyone who sees the Rainbow Man ultimately meets an untimely death. Despite this, Rizo remains dedicated to his research on creating artificial rainbows. One day, a fire breaks out at Rizo's wooden villa in the mountains, and his disciple Sugawara Hachiro is confirmed to have perished in the disaster.
