The story takes place in Paris, France in 1957. Anne (played by Betty Schneider) attends a party with her brother's guidance, where she meets Terry (played by Françoise Prévost) and theater director Gérard (played by Gianni Esposito). Gérard is rehearsing a Shakespeare play, and the production is facing financial difficulties. To help Gérard overcome this challenge, Anne decides to join the cast. Terry's boyfriend Juan encountered misfortune some time ago; although it appears he committed suicide, both Terry and Anne suspect there’s more to the story. Philippe (played by Daniel Crohem), who has fled from America to France, warns Terry and Anne to be cautious of their personal safety to avoid meeting the same fate as Juan. Throughout the rehearsal process, Anne attempts to uncover the truth behind Juan's suicide.
