In a remote town in France, it is the heart of winter, with heavy snow falling. Despite the severe weather, insurance saleswoman Alice (Laure Calamy) drives tirelessly to her client Joseph's (Damien Bonnard) mountain cabin, seemingly driven by her obsession and restlessness regarding their affair. Upon returning, a parked car by the roadside briefly catches her attention. She later learns from the news that the car belongs to a woman named Evelyn (Valeria Bruni Tedeschi), who is currently missing. Alice's husband, Michel (Denis Ménochet), is taciturn but has already seen through his wife's facade. After being exposed by her husband, Alice hastily retreats to the mountains the next day, hoping to cut ties with Joseph for a while.
