Shaun (played by Simon Pegg) is struggling in his career and his love life isn't going well either. He hangs out with a group of similarly aimless friends, including Pete and the annoying gamer Ed. Just when Shaun decides to pull himself together for his girlfriend, he gets laughed at by his coworkers and his girlfriend fails to understand him, leaving Shaun to drown his sorrows with his friends. But that day, the entire city undergoes a drastic change. Zombies invade, and anyone bitten by them will also turn into a zombie. While Shaun and Ed are enjoying drinks at the pub, they suddenly find themselves surrounded by zombies. Now, Shaun must summon his inner hero to protect his family and friends.
