The story takes place in a remote and quiet town in Scotland called Inversne. As night falls, young police officer Rachel (played by Pollyanna McIntosh) is awakened by her alarm clock. She gets dressed in an orderly manner and then steps out to walk down the empty street. At an intersection, Rachel witnesses an elderly man standing not far away, but soon the man is struck by a speeding car. Rachel rushes over, but she doesn't see the victim; she can only hand over the driver, Caesar (played by Brian Vernel), back to the police station for questioning alongside Sheriff Mike Reid (played by Douglas Russell). Later, Caesar is locked in a cell, and the police colleagues manage to find the mysterious and silent injured elderly man. Unbelievably, the old man seems to possess the ability to reach into others' hearts, driving them into a frenzy, which sets the stage for an extraordinary night...
