In the coming decades, humanity's exploration and utilization of space deepens. In 2040, the "Event Horizon," which utilizes space distortion technology to delve deep into the universe, disappears near Neptune. In 2047, Event Horizon suddenly sends a distress signal from Neptune, prompting Dr. Weir (played by Sam Neill), the designer of the ship, to be assigned to lead a rescue mission aboard the ship "Lewis and Clark." Captain Miller (played by Laurence Fishburne) is not very friendly, but fortunately, Lewis and Clark quickly docks with Event Horizon as planned. The team members teeter on the brink of collapse. However, even more astonishingly, Event Horizon seems to have gained a form of consciousness. Dr. Weir believes the ship's transformation is due to its journey through hell, leading Captain Miller to engage in a life-and-death showdown with Weir to save the crew...
