In the highest prison on the moon, the ruthless Boris the Animal (Jemaine Clement) escapes. He committed evil crimes in 1969 and was ultimately defeated by the young K (Josh Brolin), who cut off one of his arms and sent him to prison. Boris's purpose in escaping is to travel through time to kill K. Meanwhile, J (Will Smith) and K (Tommy Lee Jones) continue to deal with various chaos caused by aliens, but their partnership becomes strained due to their silence on Boris's case.
