In 1978, Joe, nicknamed "Scorpion" (James Landry Hébert), and his accomplice Lenny (Michael Villar) have just robbed a bank and inadvertently taken innocent woman Vivian Fontaine (Ashley Bell) hostage. They speed down the highway, with the police in hot pursuit. During the chase, Lenny is shot; although they manage to shake off the police, Lenny ultimately dies. Joe and Vivian work together to dispose of Lenny’s body, then continue their flight. However, they unwittingly drive onto private property, where their car is first shot at and its tires blown out, and then Joe is shot as well. Following this, a man with a sniper rifle, White Moss (Pat Healy), appears with a smile in front of the terrified Vivian. Vivian seems to have miraculously escaped Scorpion's control, but inadvertently steps into the territory of a group of murderers...
