The Umbrella Corporation, which conducts military research on biological weapons, has a huge underground research center called the Hive in Raccoon City. An accidental incident causes a biological weapon that spreads through the air to leak. The computer system responsible for the Hive's security, "Red Queen," initiates emergency measures, resulting in the deaths of hundreds of staff members... Four hours later, security personnel Alice (played by Milla Jovovich) wakes up at the Hive's exit and loses her memory due to a tranquilizing gas. A special squad sent to shut down the Red Queen arrives here, teaming up with Alice, a self-proclaimed police officer named Anderson, and Hive staff member Spence to delve deeper underground. The group faces repeated attacks from the security system and zombies as their mission goal conflicts with the Red Queen. Meanwhile, Alice's gradually recovering memory reveals her unusual connection with her companions. How will this biological zombie crisis be resolved? Or is it merely a prelude to despair? This film is the first in a series adapted from the popular video game "Resident Evil."
