On a stormy night, young David (Hunter Carson) witnesses a mysterious unidentified flying object landing near the sand dunes by his home. The next day, his father decides to climb the dunes to investigate. However, when he returns, he has become cold and hostile, entirely different from the kind man he was before. Soon after, David's mother begins to show similar changes. David, troubled and confused, gradually discovers that alien beings have abducted the townspeople and implanted devices in their cervical spines that can control their brains. Yet, no matter how hard he tries to tell others this truth, no one believes him. As time goes on, David becomes increasingly worried about his parents. He notices they start consuming raw meat, and the teachers at school exhibit similar strange behaviors, with the entire town slowly spiraling into madness.
