At the depths of 1,000 feet in the South Pacific, the U.S. government discovers a mysterious spacecraft that has been underwater for 300 years. Authorities quickly assemble a scientific team consisting of top scientists: psychologist Norman Goodman (played by Dustin Hoffman), biochemist Beth Halperin (played by Sharon Stone), and mathematician Harry Adams (played by Samuel L.
