Shuidong, who lives with relatives in Xiaowu Village, longs to return to Qingya Mountain and be with the New Fourth Army, alongside his father who is the new commander of the army. However, the Japanese puppet troops stationed at Qiao Tou Village in Daqiao Town have besieged Qingya Mountain for more than six months, forcing Shuidong to stay in Xiaowu Village indefinitely, accompanied by his boastful yet timid "great-uncle" Ah Fu and a group of naive children. The underground party of our army in the county has gone to great lengths to obtain a defense map of the Japanese puppet troops surrounding Qingya Mountain. Uncle Li, a member of the underground party, attempts to secretly take this map up the mountain so that the New Fourth Army at Baihu Mountain can seize the opportunity to break through. At this moment, Japanese Captain Yoshida also receives intelligence and orders the puppet army commander Ding Ge to ensure the capture of the defense map with soldiers like Da Ma Zi. When Uncle Li passes through Xiaowu Village, he is ambushed by Ding Ge and others. By chance, he encounters Shuidong, and before sacrificing himself, Uncle Li hands the defense map to Shuidong, urging him to take it to Qingya Mountain. As Ding Ge and his men pursue them, Shuidong uses his knowledge of the terrain to evade the enemy, and at a critical moment, Ah Fu bravely steps in to help, allowing the two children to escape successfully. Shuidong explains the situation to Ah Fu, expressing his intention to take the defense map to Qingya Mountain. Out of admiration and longing for Qingya Mountain, Ah Fu insists on joining him. Shuidong initially refuses, but Ah Fu uses both soft and hard tactics to coerce him with his "great-uncle" status, and Shuidong reluctantly agrees. As long as they pass through Daqiao Town, once they cross into Qingya Mountain, the enemy will have no means to pursue them. Shuidong and Ah Fu rush along the mountain paths towards Daqiao Town. Ding Ge reports the situation to Captain Yoshida, who orders that if they can't capture the defense map, Ding Ge will be executed. Terrified, Ding Ge shouts at Da Ma Zi and his subordinates that if they don't catch the children, none of them will survive. On the mountain path, Ah Fu's clumsy and timid nature causes Shuidong quite a bit of trouble. Ding Ge and his men chase relentlessly, and once, thanks to Da Ma Zi's stupid blunder, they almost caught the two. Another time, Shuidong is lucky to escape by releasing a snake to bite the enemy. Shuidong and Ah Fu travel through the night and find shelter at a Guandi Temple on the outskirts of Daqiao Town. Exhausted, Shuidong and Ah Fu fall asleep. Mao Tou and Xi Mei discover that Shuidong and Ah Fu have taken over their home, and they start to fight. Ah Fu, not being a match for Mao Tou, tries to scare him with a snake, accidentally causing Mao Tou to get bitten. Shuidong helps Mao Tou treat his wounds, and the four children become good friends. The puppet troops chase them to the Guandi Temple. With the help of Mao Tou and Xi Mei, they escape into the mountains, but unexpectedly, Shuidong injures his foot and is captured by the puppet troops while Ah Fu escapes alone. Mao Tou and Xi Mei come back to rescue Shuidong. Shuidong uses a snake basket as cover, and the four of them sneak into Daqiao Town. Ding Ge and his men immediately pursue them, and in town, Mao Tou and Xi Mei use their respective skills to help Shuidong and Ah Fu overcome difficulties. They chase Ding Ge's group to the riverbank outside of town, and together, Shuidong, Ah Fu, Mao Tou, and Xi Mei work hard to shake off the enemy. Shuidong and Ah Fu set off toward the final checkpoint—Qiao Tou Town. Just as Shuidong and Ah Fu cleverly circumvent Qiao Tou Town, the cunning Ding Ge sets an ambush for them. An unexpected event occurs as the contact person turns out to be Ding Ge's brother. At a critical moment, Shuidong releases a snake to save everyone, and they flee into the night outside the village. At the cave entrance, Ding Ge and Da Ma Zi catch up to the four children. Gunshots ring out, but it is Ding Ge who falls, shot by Da Ma Zi. It turns out that Da Ma Zi is also an undercover agent planted by our party within the enemy ranks. If it weren't for Da Ma Zi secretly helping them, Shuidong and Ah Fu would never have made it to Qiao Tou Town.
