In the mid-21st century, the Earth's environment is severely damaged, and human civilization and beliefs collapse uncontrollably. At a time of chaos, a tech company named ROC rises rapidly with their developed "Pilgrim 7000" smart robots. The Pilgrims delve into every corner of society, helping people handle everything from life to death. Under the constraints of two fundamental principles, the robots work tirelessly, yet they also face various brutal and ruthless treatments. Jack Bogen (played by Antonio Banderas) is an insurance adjuster under ROC, and during his work, he accidentally discovers that many Pilgrims have not only been privately tampered with, but their fundamental principles have also been violated. The robots either harm others or self-harm, leading Jack to sense that there may be a conspiracy behind it all. He leaves the city to seek the truth in the slums, witnessing the miraculous scene of a robot named Kariel self-repairing. His relentless pursuit also places Jack in the center of great danger…
