In the 1950s, the United States produced "Atomic Monster," Japan made "Godzilla," and by the late 1950s, the UK jumped on the bandwagon with "The Giant Behemoth." In 1961, they partnered with MGM to create "Gargantua." Unlike other monster movies where the creature is mostly hidden until the final showdown, this film presents the monster's destruction in full view of the audience, demolishing the Tower Bridge and toppling Big Ben. In the end, it relies on two giant feet to stomp through buildings, causing bricks and debris to fly everywhere, which is quite thrilling. The film tells the story of humans capturing a cute little monster—Gargantua—and keeping it in a circus, not realizing that it would lead to the arrival of its monstrous mother...
