Sonny (played by Jeremy Ray Taylor), a chubby kid who idolizes Tesla, and Sam (played by Caleel Harris), a slightly dim-witted friend, are bullied by bad kids at school. One day, they get hired to clean a house and accidentally discover a strange doll named Slappy in the attic. Unbeknownst to them, Slappy helps them deal with their bullies, and later, he aids Sonny and his sister Sarah (played by Madison Iseman) in causing chaos at school. Although they benefit from this bizarre doll, the trio soon realizes the danger and evil hidden behind Slappy's sinister smile. Rejected by others, Slappy goes on a rampage, determined to turn Halloween upside down... This film is based on R.L. Stine's children's literature series "Goosebumps."
