Adapted from Michael Crichton's bestselling novel of the same name. This film is a miniseries reimagined by the Scott brothers based on a 2008 television series. In the small town of Piedmont, Utah, a couple is on a date in the mountains when suddenly a satellite falls from the sky. Curiously, they take the satellite back to town, unaware that they are also bringing back a terrible disaster. Suddenly, a deadly virus erupts in the town, causing people to die for unknown reasons. To prevent the virus from spreading to other cities, the military quarantines the town and sends a scientific team codenamed “Andromeda” to investigate the source of the outbreak. The team includes: epidemiologist Jeremy (Benjamin Bratt), astrobiologist Angela (Christa Miller), microbiologist Tsi (Kim Dae-hyun), and pathologist Charlene (Viola Davis).
