Violinist Liu Zhi-Kang (Takuya Kimura) and translator Cai Jia-Yi (Gigi Leung) live just a wall apart, yet they have never met because one always walks left and the other always walks right at the same time in the same place. One day, they happen to arrive at the same park, and they meet at one end of a pond, instantly feeling a connection. A joyful and sweet afternoon quickly passes, but just before dusk, a sudden downpour hits. They hurriedly exchange phone numbers as they part ways, only to find that the paper with the number has become a blurry mess from the rain by the time they get home. To ensure Liu Zhi-Kang and Cai Jia-Yi can never meet again in this lifetime, their secret admirers, Xiao Hong and Dr. Hu, come up with a scheme, especially since the park where they met is being demolished. They start to believe that there truly is no fate between them.
