Ji Yaqing (played by Liu Shishi), a travel magazine editor, is exhausted from her daily hustle in the urban jungle, and her relationship with her fiancé Zhiyuan is becoming increasingly mundane. On the eve of her wedding, Yaqing substitutes for a friend to complete a feature in Pu'er, Yunnan. Upon arrival, she unexpectedly discovers an elderly Taiwanese man on the brink of death who longs for his first love, prompting her to change her topic and pursue the man's initial romance. Xu Nianzu (played by Zhou Yumin), a painter, lives life on his own terms with a charming demeanor; the death of his grandfather makes him regret not having accompanied him. Determined to fulfill his grandfather's wish, he sets off on a journey to his grandfather's hometown in Pu'er, Yunnan. Ji Yaqing and Xu Nianzu meet unexpectedly in Pu'er, and to their surprise, they realize they are both searching for the same person. Thus, they embark on a journey to find love together.
