In the Middle Ages, a pair of star-crossed lovers, a hero and a beauty, are cursed by a jealous bishop (played by Leo McKern) to become a wolf (Rutger Hauer) who can never reunite with his love, the Lady (Michelle Pfeiffer), who transforms into a hawk by day. The handsome hero roams the night, while the beautiful lady, who can escape as a hawk, manages to evade the bishop’s evil clutches several times. A young thief (Matthew Broderick), witnessing their suffering, decides to step in and help. Although he faces the jealousy of the wolf knight and is often caught and beaten, he is determined to join forces against the wicked bishop out of admiration for the lady. But can true love break the powerful curse? Will day and night ever meet? Can the knight finally claim the lady and bring the bishop to justice?
