Meanwhile, an accident occurs at a nearby military base during the development of a drug, releasing a viral gas that turns the surrounding people into zombies, and Cherry's long, enticing right leg, which she depends on for a living, gets ripped off by a zombie. Luckily, she still has her boyfriend Ray (played by Freddie Rodriguez) by her side. The hospital is drenched in blood, and the police are helpless to stop the zombie attack. Ray and other survivors gather in a small shop to form an armed group and engage in a bloody battle against the zombies. Ray even gives Cherry a prosthetic leg, which actually serves as a powerful weapon, functioning as both a machine gun and a mortar. Thus, Cherry becomes a super female fighter hunting zombies.
