This film tells the story of the young legendary master Huang Feihong and his adventures. During the early years of the Republic, the young Huang Feihong (played by Jackie Chan) self-learns a powerful set of martial arts called Drunken Fist. However, he must get completely drunk before using this technique to break all martial arts rules and unleash the power of Drunken Fist. Because of this, Huang Feihong's father, Huang Qiying, strictly forbids his son from practicing this disrespectful and rule-breaking martial art. The mischievous young Feihong often practices Drunken Fist behind his father's back and defeats many strong opponents with it. One day, Feihong and his father are traveling to the northeast on business. On the way, they encounter a group of foreign robbers who are secretly smuggling out the national treasure jade seal. To stop these robbers and retrieve the national treasure, Feihong has no choice but to use his signature skill—Drunken Fist!
