40-year-old unmarried man Pans (played by Ma Dezhong) wants to find a satisfactory wife, so he hires Zhao Xiaoyang (played by Wang Dazhi), the owner of a nearly bankrupt matchmaking agency, as a marriage consultant. He brings along a tough girl, Bai Xiaobai (played by Liu Liyang), who only speaks basic Vietnamese, as a translator to pursue the big-name actress Nguyen Thi Phuong (played by Qing Mei) in Vietnam.
