Four state troopers in Vermont: Captain Sonic (Jay Chandrasekhar), Officer Mac (Steve Lemme), Rabbit (Erik Stolhanske), and Foster (Paul Soter) are a group of misfit highway pranksters who tease kids smoking marijuana, dress up to race in unregistered vehicles for gambling, and find themselves in a feud with the city police over the rights to investigate an unidentified female corpse found by the roadside. As the government plans to cut budgets and reduce staff in the police department, the laid-back state troopers feel pressured, and tensions with the city police escalate. When Sonic and the others accidentally discover a connection between their seized marijuana and the corpse case, they seize the opportunity as a chance to save their jobs during the cuts.
