However, despite this, Joan's own life has always been stable and uneventful, and deep down, she longs for an adventure like her protagonists. The opportunity soon arises when one day, Joan receives a letter from Colombia, revealing that her sister Elaine (Mary Ellen Trainor) has been kidnapped by jewel thieves Ella (Zack Norman) and Narlf (Danny DeVito). They are not asking for a ransom, but rather a treasure map. Desperate, Joan immediately sets off for Colombia.
