Wanchai District patrol officer Chen Junjie (Eason Chan) gradually loses passion for his job after seven years of doing the same routine work every day. When his junior partner Liao Denan (Joey Yung) is assigned to patrol with him, he observes her enthusiasm and seriousness with cold sarcasm. When they encounter the madman Wang Cheng (Anthony Wong), Chen Junjie dismisses him as just a mental patient to show Liao Denan. 19-year-old naive girl Nicole meets Chen Junjie after a bus passenger exposure incident, and she starts to idolize him. Chen Junjie also feels warmth from the two. Before long, a brutal rapist emerges in Wanchai District, and many single women are murdered, including Diet.
