17-year-old girl Hailey (played by Missy Peregrym) has a negative personality that troubles her family greatly. Once an outstanding gymnast, she gave up gymnastics after discovering an affair between her mother and her coach, leading to her downfall. Hailey's rebellion escalates and eventually crosses legal boundaries; accused of vandalism, she is forced to enter a strict gymnastics academy to turn her life around. Life at the school is tough; in addition to a group of hostile classmates, Hailey meets gymnastics coach Bert (played by Jeff Bridges). After various misunderstandings and conflicts, Bert discovers Hailey's extraordinary talent for gymnastics and vows not to let it go to waste. With Bert's encouragement and support, Hailey steps back onto the competition stage, facing not only strong opponents but also her dark past.
