On a secluded island, a variety of happy and carefree birds live together. However, there are always outliers among them, such as the reclusive and overweight Red (voiced by Jason Sudeikis), who, with his orphan background and somewhat quirky appearance, becomes the subject of ridicule among the other birds. Over time, Red develops a cranky and irritable personality. While sentenced by a judge to attend an anger management class, he meets the ultra-fast Chuck (voiced by Josh Gad) and the bomb-obsessed Bomb (voiced by Danny McBride), who tends to explode accidentally. The three misfits get into a lot of trouble. Not long after, the mysterious green pig Leonard (voiced by Bill Hader) arrives on the island with his entourage, displaying friendly faces while seemingly plotting something sinister. Only Red is suspicious of the green pigs' arrival, and his concerns are soon validated…
