This film tells the story of General Wynne Kendi's tumultuous yet glorious life, where he never abandoned his dignity and gentlemanly demeanor even amidst the brutality of war. Kendi, returning from the South African War, arrived in Germany, where he met Miss Hunter, an English girl working as a private tutor. Due to their work, they became involved with each other and appeared as a couple in public, but one day a German officer who had previously duelled Kendi over Hunter once again challenged him, and they still discussed this matter forty years later... The cruel war distorted many hearts but also forged great friendships, transforming former battlefield enemies, guests, and romantic rivals into lifelong companions...
