In a small fishing village in Taiwan, a girl named Abei (played by Shu Qi) has been living a peaceful life. Until one day, she finds a glass bottle washed up on the shore, which had floated over from Hong Kong. Inside the bottle is a note written by a boy from Hong Kong: "I’m lonely, how about you?" along with his address and phone number. Thus, Abei begins her hopeful journey to Hong Kong to find this boy. Based on the address, Abei locates the boy, Ah Bo. Ah Bo is impressed by Abei's courage and takes her in. Over time, Abei is surprised to discover that Ah Bo is actually gay, and not the Prince Charming she had imagined. At this point, Abei meets her true Prince Charming—financial genius Ah Xiang (played by Jackie Chan). To get closer to the thrill-seeking Ah Xiang, Abei lies, claiming to be the daughter of a gang leader. Consequently, an unexpected series of events unfolds.
