In the late 1980s, British amateur sailor Tracy Edwards set her sights on the upcoming Whitbread Round the World Race, a staggering 40,000-mile global sailing competition. Tracy assembled one of the first all-female international sailing teams to participate in the race. They not only had to endure a perilous journey but also withstand a media storm of gender discrimination, fighting hard to prove themselves.
