Harold Lee (played by John Cho) decides to follow the girl he likes, Maria, to Amsterdam, determined to win her affection by any means necessary. At the airport, Kumar Patel (played by Kal Penn) accidentally runs into his ex-girlfriend Vanessa, only to be shocked to find out she is about to get married. Before Kumar even boards the plane, he has a heated argument with an airport security guard, almost missing his flight, but eventually, both manage to get on the plane.
