Firefighter Ya Jian (played by Chung Chen Tao) rescued the tablet of deceased star Ya Ling (played by Cheng Yu Ling) from a major fire. Ya Ling's spirit manifests to repay Ya Jian, but instead causes him to be fired from the fire department, leaving him unemployed. Ya Jian finds his self-proclaimed monk brother Ya Yuan (played by Wu Ma), who inadvertently attracts the female ghost Ya Hua (played by Li Yan Shan). Ya Hua unexpectedly falls in love with Ya Yuan. In an accident, Ya Jian sees the manifested Ya Ling and mistakenly believes she is an ordinary woman, falling in love with her. Similarly, Ya Ling, who loves Ya Jian, conceals her true identity. Ya Hua's romance is hindered by Ya Ling, and in a fit of anger, she reveals to Ya Yuan that Ya Ling is a female ghost. Upon learning her identity has been exposed, Ya Ling chooses to leave, but it is at this point that Ya Jian realizes he can no longer part from Ya Ling.
