The story takes place in a small village in Canada, where Fiona (played by Fiona Gordon) has lived her whole life and works as the librarian in town. One day, Fiona unexpectedly receives a letter from Aunt Martha (played by Emmanuelle Riva), an elderly relative in her nineties who reaches out for help. If Fiona cannot go to Paris to take care of her, she will be sent to an old people's home without anyone to rely on. Out of options, Fiona sets out on her journey to Paris. In an accident, she accidentally falls into the water, losing all her belongings, including her identification. Even worse, when she arrives at her destination, she finds that Aunt Martha is missing. In this bustling yet cold big city, Fiona meets a homeless man named Dom (played by Dominique Abel) who is in a similar predicament.
