It is said that in 1928, Hungarian director Béla Otten (played by Eli Roth) shot a horror film based on a true event that occurred in Romania. However, during the filming, bizarre and strange events kept happening, and Otten ultimately went missing; the film was never completed, and no one has seen even a small portion of it. Hollywood director Marcus Reed (played by Reshad Strik) has been having the same dream for years, where he constantly sees Béla Otten and the scenes from that legendary film. Unable to suppress his creative desire, he decides to take his crew back to the original studio to remake the film. However, right from the planning stage, things go wrong—people get injured, and the lost footage from that time overlaps with the new samples Marcus shoots. A terrifying atmosphere spreads within the crew, and Marcus can no longer turn back... This film is a remake of Japanese director Hideo Nakata's breakout work "The Ring."
