Priest Macbeth (played by Feng Cuifan) is devout throughout his life but cannot shake off his alcoholism, which leads to his excommunication from the church and a life of despair. The devil's messenger, A Biao, descends to harvest the souls of the young. A Jie (played by Xu Guanying) holds grand ambitions in his heart but faces relentless setbacks due to the harsh realities, making him feel trapped, and the girl he has secretly loved for a long time, Peggy (played by Xu Jie), gradually drifts away from him. A Biao sees an opportunity in A Jie and makes a deal with him, wagering A Jie's soul. With the devil's help, A Jie's career begins to flourish, and he wins Peggy's heart. However, his originally pure and kind character starts to fade, turning him greedy and selfish. When A Jie realizes his change, he feels deeply ashamed, and just as he attempts to turn back to righteousness, A Biao decides to take his soul.
