In the distant north of Tibet, there is a magical land known as the Qiangtang. The majestic Kunlun and Gangdise Mountains embrace this 600,000 square kilometer no man’s land like two giant arms. Qiangtang is not only China's largest no man's land but also the largest natural reserve in China and the second largest in the world. In the heart of this uninhabited region stands the vast Puruogangri Glacier, which has an elevation between 6,000 and 6,800 meters and covers an area of 422 square kilometers, making it the world's largest mid-latitude glacier. It was first discovered and identified as the world's third-largest glacier, after Antarctica and the Arctic, during a joint investigation by Chinese and American scientists in 1999. Producer Lao Cai had previously entered the Qiangtang no man's land and planned to lead a team to film the main peak of the Puruogangri Glacier for the first time. Twenty-one-year-old female director Zi Jun was determined to follow in her ancestors' footsteps and joined the team. The convoy faced numerous dangers on the way to the glacier's main peak, but nothing could stop this group of ordinary Chinese people. Under the watchful eyes of a wolf pack, the group finally arrived at the base of the glacier's main peak on the southeast side. At an altitude of 6,000 meters on the ice tongue, director Zi Jun finally opened up about her lingering past, while producer Lao Cai also broke down emotionally— he too had unresolved regrets and a deep affection for this ancient land. Everyone has their own no man's land deep in their hearts, with unspoken and unresolved pain. Whether one is persistent about the no man's land and wilderness or not, everyone should give themselves a chance, a chance to reconcile with themselves, with the past, and with others.
