The male protagonist, Trip (played by Patrick Dempsey), goes to the bank to exchange money. Just as he strikes up a conversation with female teller Kaitlin (played by Ashley Judd), he unfortunately encounters a bank robbery. The bank's security system activates, and everyone becomes trapped like birds in a cage. To make matters worse, there are actually two groups of robbers. Thus begins a cat-and-mouse game filled with misunderstandings and escalating tension, as innocent hostages maneuver around the clumsy robbers, delivering continuous climactic moments amidst the chaos.
