Adapted from the novel of the same name by Taichiro Tamura. During World War II in northern China, a group of comfort women is stationed in Tianjin. The lovesick woman Harumi (played by Yumiko Yokokawa) volunteers to join the comfort station to forget the betrayal by her lover Narita. Harumi meets different soldiers every day, living a disheartened life. A lieutenant named Narita (played by Isao Tamagawa) reminds Harumi of her former lover, causing her inner pain to deepen.
