Chen Jiafu (played by Takeshi Kaneshiro) is a piano tuner, somewhat awkward, living a repetitive life every day. One day, he encounters a nomad (played by Aaron Kwok) whose life is unstable, either flirting with girls or gambling on horses. Kind-hearted Chen Jiafu takes him in.
One day, a girl named Mo Min'er (played by Kelly Chen), who loves to play Bach concertos, moves in upstairs. Chen Jiafu falls in love at first sight but struggles to express his feelings. Soon, Mo Min'er ends up with the nomad instead.
In the end, Chen Jiafu tells a story about "XO lovers,” revealing that everyone in the world is searching for their Mo Min'er, with the lucky ones finding her, while the unlucky spend their lives searching in vain. That is love.
