The respected Alexander (played by Jean Reno) has been a three-star Michelin chef for many years, but recently he has faced a series of crises. In an era where “molecular gastronomy” is all the rage and traditional cuisine is on the decline, the traditional dishes that Alexander insists on are likely to fail in the upcoming star rating assessment, and the restaurant's junior staff are eagerly awaiting the chance to fire him. Just when Alexander is at his wit's end, an unknown young chef named Jack (played by Michaël Youn) appears. Jack is a devoted follower of Alexander's recipes, but his stubborn obsession with cooking has resulted in multiple job losses, forcing him to take a painting job at a nursing home. By chance, Alexander offers Jack an internship at his restaurant, and Jack’s innate culinary talent and innovative cooking ideas earn Alexander's high regard, quickly making him his right-hand man. As the star rating assessment approaches, can the collaboration between these two traditional culinary masters turn the tide against the critical "molecular gastronomy" camp?
