Wu Di (played by Xiao Shenyang) makes a living by repairing shoes, and his greatest pleasure is reading the martial arts comic "Flying Sword." One day, he meets the shoemaker Yue Lu (played by Lin Xilei), who is the emperor's (played by Chen Zhipeng) cousin. She escapes as she does not want to become the empress.
